An active-duty Navy sailor with a passion for authentic retro patches had been collecting for years. Together with his wife, he began selling them online—offering a diverse selection of genuine vintage patches ranging from classic beer brands and defunct airlines to Olympic memorabilia, college logos, and iconic car emblems.

The Discovery of a
Forgotten American Treasure

Always on the hunt for something truly special, he came across an intriguing lead a year ago. Someone in rural Pennsylvania had uncovered a stash of vintage patches inside an old warehouse. Sensing the potential, the sailor made the trip during the first week of January to see them in person.

What he found was nothing short of astonishing: a trove of original, uncirculated 1976 Bicentennial Commemorative Patches, created nearly 50 years ago to celebrate America’s 200th birthday.

These patches are more than fabric and thread—they're pieces of history. Preserved by chance, rediscovered by a patriot, and now ready to be shared as we prepare to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary.
